The Respite Program

The Respite Program is funded by the Family Care Giver Program through WestMass Elder Care, Inc. It is designed to provide respite for caregivers struggling with the day-to-day demands of caring for their loved one. The program gives the caregiver an opportunity to take care of things outside of the home with the assurance of knowing that their loved one is safe.

A licensed clinician will visit the caregiver at home and complete a comprehensive care assessment. Trained respite staff will then provide up to four hours a week, per caregiver, of respite time.

This program serves individuals in Chicopee, Holyoke, South Hadley, Granby, Belchertown, and Ludlow. The only eligibility criteria for this program is that the caregiver or loved one must be 60 years or older.
