September proved to be another busy month for staff and consumers. Every week we had special trips that consumers were interested in. The Forest Park Zoo, farmers markets, the Big E and a Bear Hunt in Easthampton looking for all of the bear statues that have been placed around Easthampton and painted by various artists. Towards the end of the month the long awaited bowling season started with three full trips going each week. Now that the weather is getting cooler consumers are busy decorating for Halloween and looking forward to the Hawthorn Halloween Carnival!!
We have been going on a lot of summer outings, now that the weather is cooperating. We have been enjoying our fishing trips, barbecues, and park events in the community. We have several other fun events planned for the summer, including a Hawaiian beach party…stay tuned for more details!
During the month of June bowlers were able to go to their Bowling Banquet at the 99 Restaurant. Each bower received a trophy and a list of their scores for the season. Everyone was very excited to show off their trophies after the banquet. Consumers have also continued trip to parks, shopping, ice cream, and the library almost every week. They were also able to go to the Berkshire Botanical Gardens at the end of the month and had a great time. Everyone is looking forward to more summer events.
During the month of June, we celebrated the end of another great bowling season. All the bowlers thoroughly enjoyed the bowling banquet, and are already looking forward to the next season of bowling that starts in the fall. Since the end of bowling, participants have been able to go out on various trips, such as shopping, to the park, and to the library on a weekly basis.
The highlighted events for the June included a trip to Mohegan Sun Casino, a Beauty Day trip, an adventure to Great Falls Discovery Center, and a trip to Songline Emu Farm. Everyone is thrilled to see warm weather finally here, and is looking forward to more special trips as summer progresses.
